How Well Do AI Models Code?
Conducted a comparative study evaluating ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Mistral on real-world software development tasks involving algorithms, web development, and data analysis. Using identical prompts and evaluation criteria, the project measured accuracy, first-try success, execution efficiency, completion time, and debugging effort to determine each model's strengths and weaknesses as an educational programming tool.
The study included a Java 16×16 Sudoku solver, an HTML/CSS/JavaScript contact manager, and a NASA exoplanet data analyzer. Results showed significant performance differences between models and highlighted the importance of prompt engineering when working with AI systems. The project was presented at OCCC Scholar Day where it earned 2nd Place in the Business & IT Division and placed Top 10 Overall.

FPGA Automotive Taillight Controller
Designed and implemented an FPGA-based automotive taillight controller using a Moore Finite State Machine written in SystemVerilog. The system simulated realistic vehicle lighting behavior including left and right turn signals, hazard lights, brake lights, and idle operation while using priority-based logic to ensure realistic responses to simultaneous inputs.
The design was verified using ModelSim simulations and testbenches before being deployed to physical FPGA hardware using push-button inputs, LED outputs, and a seven-segment display for mode visualization. Additional features included a clock divider to slow the FPGA clock for human-visible timing behavior and hardware debugging.

CAD Projects
Collection of technical drawings, mechanical designs, and engineering documentation developed using AutoCAD and computer-aided drafting techniques throughout technical coursework and design projects. Work included dimensioned drawings, assembly layouts, manufacturing documentation, and iterative design revisions.
These projects strengthened skills in technical communication, drafting standards, and translating engineering concepts into detailed and production-ready documentation. The portfolio demonstrates proficiency with industry-standard CAD workflows and engineering visualization techniques.
